Would a Dandanator be useful for diagnostics on the Plus range?

Would a Dandanator or other device be useful for diagnostics on the Plus range?  
I have a burnt dianostic ROM cartridge, but I could do with something that will work on a machine with dead RAM and things like that.

If the Diagnostics ROM cartridge doesn't work, then the Dandanator will also not work. The "problem" of the Diagnostics ROM is that it requires that the CPC / Plus is generally working and the CPU can execute commands from ROM. If this doesn't work, e.g. due to a short somewhere, you won't get any feedback from the system - independent from using a Cartridge or a Dandanator.


But I'll see if I can access my Plus and will then check if it works with the Dandanator.

Don't they have like a dead-test for RAM?

The Diagnostic ROM does have a dead-test for RAM, however if even ROM selection does not work (or ASIC dead) then nothing will work, including the diagnostic ROM and hence the Danadanator also will not work.
