I've had this machine since the late 80s, I dug it out once around 10 years ago to try playing some games and the games wouldn't load could hear the motors going but would always give a disk read error. I put it back into storage at that point. Some point in last 10 years I researched the issue and it was always leading to a belt issue as they perish over time. Last year after clearing out some stuff, came across the 6128 again and decided to finally do the belt change on the drive, I ordered the bits but before changing I tried running some disks again. This time there were no noises from the motors, I decided to change the belt anyway as it was perished but the errors are still here obviously, how can I diagnose the issue and repair it?
Many thanks
So now that you have it opened up, are the motors turning?
Bryce.
Could you take some pictures of the drive, the motor, the belt(wheels)?
Also what version is your drive? It is a sticker on the side EME-156 or something.
It can be the motor not pressed into the front anymore and therfore the head may be disaligned.
I can recommend the videos from

Hello, sorry for the late reply. The main motor is spinning, but the worm drive stepper motor does not, there is no sound coming from it and the read head does not move at all.

The sticker on the side says eme 156 V, I will get pics shortly
Check whether there are dry joints on the 4pin power connector and also the other connectors on the PCB.
