Dear all.
Being a stupid imbecile that I am I plugged the 5v out on my ctm644 into the 12v out, which obviously wasn't appreciated by the monitor.
I have 5v but no 12v out. I know there are schematics somewhere, but I don;t seem to be able to find them.
What is likely to have blown please? And/Or provide the locations for the schematics so I can work through it.
Doh!
Ive found that the c523 capacitor seems a bit knackered and as this is the only cap on that line I'll replace it.
Certainly won't hurt.
Has anyone made a full list of caps for a full electrolytic set replacement?
Just a thought.
Still can't find the schematics that are apparently on the this site somewhere...

Here : https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Service_Manuals
You want the Amstrad CPC 6128 Service Manual (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/manuals/service.manual.cpc6128.ctm644.gt65.zip)
Many thanks.
Typically had just found it via Google when your message popped up.
Thanks all the same!
CTM644 appears to be in the 664 manual. But love the way it gives a full list of caps (and all parts).
Shall order up a full set and do a full renew in all 3 of my colour monitors.
Gonna send my GT65 with h/hold prob to the local TV repair guy. Let him get zapped.
Cheers.
The part you destroyed is UPC78M12. Order one of them while you're at it.
Bryce.
Is that the regulator at 'IC503'?
@Bryce (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=225)
Yes. Connecting the 5V plug would have shorted this. They usually survive and recover from a short if it's not connected for too long, but it's not guaranteed.
Bryce.
Thanks, I'll get an order done shortly.
