Does anybody have a DUMP of the Data Media DOS called FDOS?

Is there any source code available?

Interested to know more about such a thing, but Google is no help.

Where have you found such a thing, or seen mention of it?

I've seen details of the Amstrad Data Format disks, which is somewhat misnamed, being merely a normal file format with a bit extra space via removing the System tracks, but not 'data format'?

Well, I played re-arrange the words, and got something that MIGHT be what you were asking about, but somewhat less interesting to me.

Evidently, back in 1986 or thereabouts, there was a German company called 'Data Media'.  They produced some external disk units of various configuratione.  Referred to as 'Disk Systems'.  Seems the system used their own OS, called FDOS, which seems to be quite incompatible with anything else?  Maybe because of this last fact, the system was NOT a commercial success.

The info makes no mention of a floppy disk (the OS), the system had the OS (FDOS) on EPROM in the unit.  There is mention of being able to download the EPROM image, but no info that this was ever available, or existing now.  You maybe need to try to find someone who might have an actual unit (Data Media - Disk System) with the software in ROM?

Sounds a bit like a pre-USB sort of Gotek, i.e. multiple disks (as images) on a single 'drive' that can switch between them??
