DDI-1 drive repair issue. Looks to be a dead stepper motor

I had the chance to pickup a DDI-1 last week and the replacement 3" belt arrived which i fitted today

As the error before a driver replacement was "Drive A: Disc Missing" i just assumed a new belt will fix the issue

However even with the new belt in place i was getting the same error message

On further investigation i noticed the stepper arm was not moving at all.  Manually turning is would move the stepper but even after freeing it up and applying some grease it still didn't come back to life

So question for the brainstrust.  Is this a common issue and what other troubleshooting steps could i take?

I suspect i could have a dead stepper motor or maybe its just not getting any power but i don't have a multimeter to confirm.  Nor know how to use one

Have you checked for dry joints on the connector to the motor?

Also check the voltage on the 12V rail. Is the other motor spinning?

The other motor is spinning.  but that looks to be powered by a difference connector

The stepper motor is connected by a 4 pin cable attached to the drive board.  That then splits into 2 green power cables that go into the side of the monitor

if there is a dry joint it would be on the main powerboard but i am going to have to get someone with more electronics experience to have a look for me
