Title: Failed upper ROM with Dandinator Mini CPC on a 6128
Post by: andymccall on 14:19, 05 July 24
Hi,

I'm restoring an Amstrad CPC 6128 and after swapping the memory everything seems to be working however when I run the Amstrad Diagnostics v1.2L that's included with the Dandinator Mini CPC I'm getting a failed upper ROM test.

I don't think it has failed as everything seems to be working great.

Does anyone know why I'd get this failure?

Thanks,

Andy

Maybe you haven't validated all BASIC 1.1 commands.
You should check the contents of the BASIC ROM and compare it with that in the emulators.

You mean a wrong checksum check for AMSDOS? That's almost normal. I think I only had it once that the check was successful and several times that it gave me an error although the CPC was working perfectly fine. Not sure if the checksum is not calculated correctly always or if there are slightly different AMSDOS versions.

You should use Version 1.3
" Fixed upper ROM detection that was failing in some cases."
