I was pulling the spade connector off my 464 (1984 version) keyboard and as it came off I accidentally ripped off the little bit of circuit board just below the main circuit board in this pic, it has blue and pink cabling to it. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tuK_yr61pWM/VmKiRFeFWeI/AAAAAAAAHHk/CM9d6UhiHJA/s1600/Cassette%2Bdeck.jpg

I can physically reattach it with hot glue or something etc but I think I have damaged whatever component is attached to it - see attached pic - as the component appears to have two legs and one leg is no longer touching the other. Anyone know what this is and does (out of interest) but more importantly can anyone confirm the legs should touch and if I should solder it back on (I have very basic soldering skills) or if the heat would damage it a maybe I should use conduction glue or a wire wrap or something just to hold the legs together.

Out of interest I did power on the CPC and the screen and keyboard worked, didn't try using the tape drive.

THANKS :D

I do have some other problems with my old 464+6128, recently rescued from my father's purging of the family attic after 20+ years, I will post them separately if I can't resolve from other posts/google etc :D

OK panic over, I got home and looks at where its supposed to be from the link I sent, I can see now that its supposed to be open (i.e. legs untouching) as the play button mechanism touches it and, I can surmise, sends a signal that play has been pressed or something :)
I've unscrewed the bit I snapped it off and can easily glue the two bits back together and re-screw into place :) pic to follow for more info
