I hope someone can help me as my OCD is killing me over this issue

A nylon washer was found after replacing the tyre on the FF idler wheel on my cassette deck.

Problem is i have no idea where it came from and if its critical to the cassette deck operating.

Anyone know what this is used for and meant to be?

I suspect it goes underneath the idler arm but watching a couple of YT videos it doesn't show up on there teardowns

I think it goes under one of the mounting screws to stop the screw head from shorting traces on the PCB.

Thanks Bruce,

I've dissembled 3 of these units in the past to replace the tape counter and drive belts

Its only been when i had changed the FF Idler ring that i have noticed the nylon washer

I suspect it goes underneath the FF idler arm however after watching "8 bit retro fix" and "Mr Lurchs" video during their disassembly none was found.

Do you recall a nylon washer going under the ff idler arm, then the brass screw and nut on top to secure it?

so I could either be from the tape eject mechanism (circled)

Or one of these two spots.
