Hi,

I followed every step in cpcwiki page to prepare the cable to connect 3.5" inch floppy. However when i want to change the drive to B, both of the drives start to work and  original floppy of the Amstrad keep buzzing forever.  I am pretty sure i shorted 33rd and 34th pins correctly. After turning on the Amstrad, 3.5" floppy's light is off as it should be i assume. And i am not using the twisted part of the cable. There is a floppy in new drive and i am having read error message because it is not yet formatted i guess.

I tried to short pin 11 and 12 to use the new drive as primary after turning on the computer. But i still have the same issue. Do you have any idea what is the problem?

Bryce

Hi,
what's the make and model of the drive and what guide did you follow?

Bryce.

I'd be happy to see some pictures of
your setup. A detailled one of the connectors
too, please.

This one is good. I changed it twice and it runs...

Jesus Christ, i have to mod the driver? With all my perfect soldering skills?  ;D Well, i moded my mp2 for a scart output. But those tiny chip legs scare me not gonna lie. I will give it a try, thank you :)

Hi my friend,

As i know you don't have 3" floppy disks. And you don't plan to use it.
So, don't risk it and just cancel the 3" drive and enjoy 3.5" floppy.  ;)

Please don't use the 33-34 shortcut hack to have a Ready signal!!!
It will cause problems!
Please use a floppy which does provide a Ready signal.  :)
