EME-156 drive setup

i got a drive that had its caps and belt changed and it wont read disks,

im guessing the index sensor and/or the stepper, are there ant directions of had to re-align them, i have been looking for a few weeks now.

I'd check what speed it's spinning at first and that the head is clean. Also, depending on the experience of the person who swapped the belt, I'd also check that both belt wheels are definitely completely free of old gunk from the old belt.

Bryce, thank you for the info, the heads are clean, the belt was removed and the wheels are also well cleaned.
i have downloaded the drive test dsk for the 6128 but not sure exactly how to use it to set the drive back up, or if there is a better way.

The track 0 sensor is something that rarely breaks or needs alignment. I'd focus on other things first. Have you also checked the PCB for dry joints yet?

yeh i agree, but when it was loose when the drive arrived its going to be out
