Hey Everyone,

Firstly, my name is Mark, I am 27 years of age, and I am from England.

I first used an Amstrad when I was a young lad, as my dad used to have a 464 and a shed load of games, and every weekend his mate would come around and they would spend all night playing Football Managing Games, unfortunately my dad sold his Amstrad a good few years ago.

When it was coming up to my 21st birthday, my partner asked me what I wanted for my birthday, so I said to her that I really wanted to get myself a 464, so after months of looking around, I managed to pick one up on EBay with the green screen (2.5 hour round trip to collect it  :D ), and then for Christmas I got a box full of games.

I normally only dig the Amstrad out now again again but just recently, it has been permanently set up in the living room, so I have been using it loads. When she gets sick of it, I will set it up in my games room.

I thought I would sign up to the forum, so that I can talk to like minded people, as none of my mates have an Amstrad, or even interested in it (they only play the new consoles).

I keep looking on EBay as I want to make my games collection a lot bigger, but lately not many games seem to be on to buy.

I look forward to chatting with you all  :)

Nice to have you on board mark_htfc. Nice to have another games collector around. Game collections don't seem to get much of a mention these days. I like you wanted to make my collection bigger and used Ebay and other sites and now have about a 1000. Mind you 51 of them are the Amstrad Action Cassettes.
Life's a bitch. You marry one or two then you die !

Welcome Mark!

Do you intend to collect games just for the collecting of it, or to play them? Because if you just want games to play there are other ways than going through eBay :)

It depends really, probably a little bit of both I think. I do still love using the actually machine, so games that I do buy I would probably want to sit down and play, rather than them just sitting in the case. I still have a couple of games that are in the wrapping from when I bought a box full of games but I wouldn't say they was games that would be worth anything.

I have only every really known of EBay really, as I am not sure if anywhere locally to me stocks games, although I have come across one website but the selection of games that they have is a bit limited.

There is a few games that I specifically want to get a hold off, so I will keep my eye out for them.

I am hoping that this retro games event that I am going to in a months time has a few games to look through.
