Currently at the Evoke demoparty I thought this is a good place:

CPC was missing one, so finally I'll declare my Bad Apple Version for enhanced Amstrad, called Bad Arnold, ready.

You need an CPC with 1MB additional RAM and a PlayCity and in the best case a M4 or a 360kB floppy + 720 kb floppy.

M4-Version loads in seconds, floppy version takes approx. 10 minutes to load.

You wanted stuff for more ram, you get it.

Have Fun,

I have a 1mb expansion in the works.... So will definately be trying this from my m4 ASAP.

If one has less (minimum is 128kB). It still loads but the Bad Apple Video will crash after your amount of ram is used. So with 512 kB you can approx. watch half of it.....

If one has no hardware:
In Winape you can watch the whole thing without sound, in javacpc, with playcity enabled, you can also watch the sound.

keith56

Very impressive rendering of video on the CPC
any idea of how many frames of animation that is in total?

This is one of the finest demos I've seen for quite a while. Well done!

BSC

Call me a music-nerd if you like, but imo the best part of this demo is the music - awesome!

can you provide a link to the composers page?

ah, yes, your rendition of Bad Apple is also well done :)

There are about 2700-2800 frames.

I'm a music nerd, too. I really love the intro-music which is only a 3-channel tune and could run on a normal CPC.

In the first release, I messed the scrolltext a little bit. It was too dark at the evoke and as already said "there was too much smoke"  ;D . So I cleaned the text and replaced the ZIP attached to the first post.
You can also get the release at cpc.cifinet.org.

By the way: If there is a need for Y-MEM to run for example my demo, TOTO can reorder a batch of 10, if desired. But, it is better for his time and logistics to exclusively build Z-MEM (1MB RAM + RTC) in the next weeks.

So if you want to run my demo (or something else with more RAM), you can contact Toto by PM....

Cannot make it work on any of the 2 mentioned emulators, always end up to a black screen. I use the 4Mb expansion configuration with a plain 6128. Am I missing something else?

Targhan

I'm unable to watch it on a real CPC, too bad. But what I see on the video is quite bold, well done! The music is great indeed. Why the need of a PlayCity if you could have played it on a real CPC, though?

I'm not 100% sure if it's the same person, but here's a profile of someone called "nq" who composes AY tunes on the ZX!

Use both drives: mount the second disk (the large one) on B:
Also, don't forget to replace AMSDOS with ParaDOS.

Out of the 10+ times I tried to load it on JavaCPC, only once worked.
On WinAPE works just fine with the 4MB settings. Without music ofcourse

Shining

The Bad Apple Tune from nq! uses 6 channels -> Playcity.

Thats the correct person. I've some other tunes from him, which I like very much. Interested in a little music- disc for CPC ?

In JavaCPC, loading takes very long (in both emus you can use turbo to load faster but only in winape it also accelerates loading itself).
I'm using Javacpc 2.9.5b (32Bit) and it loads always. Sometimes the sound gets messed up or it seems to run too slow. Then, most of the time, pausing and then resuming emulation seems to fix it.

One additional thing about JavaCPC: this Emulator supports only the two soundchips and not the whole PlayCity: Therefore detecting PlayCity in JavaCPC is not possible and my demo says, that it was not found....

As far as i know http://sugarbox.free.fr supports playcity, too. But only X-MEM-Support, so there is not enough RAM for everything...
