Title: ChinnyVision: Rodman - A Brand New CPC Game
Post by: chinnyhill10 on 21:55, 15 November 18
A brand new CPC game which see's Pacman meet Bomberman from The Future Was 8 Bit. Wish they'd used Mode 0 so the ghosts could have the unique colours on the other versions.

Better games have been reeased already this year, for free on the CPC.

The VIC 20 version looks great, I'd be happy with that if it were my version. But no way am I paying for a half arsed CPC version, Ghosts same colour, slow loading and a crappy hi-res mode. We want 16 colour!!!

Yup. Watched the video the other day, and although not my cup of tea some versions looked like fun. But not the CPC one... :(

If you have copied the tape files onto disk (not protected), you probably have noticed that it's not so easy to do a proper disk Basic loader (game is coded in C). Here is a little listing to display the intro screen then load the game.

10 OPENOUT"d":MEMORY &1FFF:MODE 1
20 RESTORE 70:FOR i=&BE80 TO &BEAF:READ a$:POKE i,VAL("&"+a$):NEXT
30 LOAD"rodman.bin",&2000
40 CALL &BE80
50 LOAD "game.bin",&4000
60 CALL &4000
70 DATA f3,e5,d5,c5,f5,dd,e5,fd,e5,21,00,00,39,22,ad,be
80 DATA 21,4b,34,36,c3,2c,36,9f,2c,36,be,c3,00,20,f3,2a
90 DATA ad,be,f9,fd,e1,dd,e1,f1,c1,d1,e1,fb,c9,00,00,00

The game seems to crash sometimes after completing a level... It does that even with the original tape so don't blame this loader  ;D .

When you buy the game, it does come with a link to download a DSK.
