This is an arcade conversion from the makers of R-Type - Irem, it's a little known game (aka "Battle Choper" for North America release) but it's a truly excellent cute and fun little Japanese shooter that they always do so well. ...and it's great that this has translated so well to the Amstrad CPC - it's a fantastic conversion! this game is cool, I loved playing it.
But I never got as far as this, so it'll be fun to watch it all the way through.

I've got 30 mins to spare before I go to work and have just worked out how to fill them  :D

The more I play and watch this video, the more I come to love it and be impressed.

Really this should be considered an Amstrad classic ... what a programming feat! Just look at the smooth scrolling and sprite movement! Speed is just right, nice animations on the main sprite, and the screen gets absolutely riddled with bullets, explosions and enemies but no slow down! HUGE ENEMY SPRITES TOO! Then you add in the fantastic graphics and use of the CPC pallette, the cherry on top of the cake is great SFX and fabulous music!

I don't get why Amstrad Action rated this at 81% but gave other shmups that play/move a lot worse higher scores. I guess maybe because after a bit of practice it's a bit easy and short.

Lets see some more love and respect for Mr Heli on the CPC!
