Strider 2 longplay and review on the Amstrad CPC! Also knowns as : "Journey from Darkness: Strider Returns" Well US Gold and Tiertex got permission from Capcom to produce their own sequel for the European market and this is the result! Not to be confused with coin-op Strider 2 that got released many years later (and also on the Playstation). Has much improved since the disappointment of the previous game's conversion? Well it uses pretty much the same engine, but with improved graphics, longer levels and bigger playing area. Which is good... but not enough. New additions of a gun you can fire and being able to change into a robot really don't add much to what is a fairly average platforming romp. cpc-power.com en.wikipedia.org

Never played this... but it's so colourful!

I recall AA criticising Strider II for it's use of Mode 0 graphics - cause the original had crisp clear Mode 1 graphics!  :o  ACU thought Strider II was pretty good, though this was around the time ACU were giving games like Eswat the Thumbs up!  :'(

That last boss didn't animate at all! They could of at least created a 3 frame walk cycle instead of just sliding him across the floor.

What would you expect from Tiertex ?

At least the game is in a cute Mode2 and playabe.
