Review and longplay / walkthrough for "Winter Games" on the Amstrad CPC! Hey guys! Sorry for the long delay between videos, but I'm back with a wintery themed game and the only I could think of! Seeing as it's Xmas and plus - summer just gone I looked at all the Epyx multi-sport event games (eg Summer Games, The Games : Summer Edition, California Games) to coincide with the olympics... so the time is right now to look at the best of the bunch - Winter Games! Wasn't a fan of this one to be honest, but at least it was a friendly one in terms of joystick waggling, i the sense that it had to be paced.
I had this on tape at the time, and it only loaded two events at a time too. Think each set took about 7 minutes to load, so it was painful in that respect.
Haven't played this in decades, I remember it being good fun despite me being rubbish at it. Might give it another try this evening, thanks for the memories :)
The background gfx are really nice!
I remember Bobsleigh being a lot of fun, and Hotdog being meh
Couldn't care less for the figure or free skating.
Ski Jump could be fun, but it seemed to take forever for "speed" skating to get off the ground. It looked and played really lame.
Biathlon just took an age once you had to climb the hills.
Might try em again for the laugh
This game had a few nice graphics though.
Lovely background art on this game.
I really liked the idea of figure skating were you have to try and pull off all those stunts.
