Every time I read one of these magazines, I feel like Buck Rogers, as though I went to sleep, woke up in the current era, but still belong in the 80s. Thank you for posting it.

Back in 1985, I was reading the adverts, and looking to buy a 'proper' computer.   But the prices were WAY too high, heading towards 2,000 for even something basic, not counting the extras you might need.

Then, I saw the first hints of the PCW 8256, the MUCH lower price, yes, some minuses, but more plusses. and got my name down for one when they actually hit the streets.

Back then, it WAS _REALLY_ something!!

Yes, I've been looking thru 'Your Computer' magazines from the eighties for a few days and even the Brother and Olivetti electronic typewriters were being advertised for about £250 each. The 8256 was simply an amazing bargain considering what you were getting for your money.
