Successfully fixed the PCW drive belt now seeing Locoscript for the first time never had a Joyce when they first came out but they look really good when you get into the guts of the software, what was the reason for the green tube monitor? cost or cosmetics?

wouldn't the vertical/side mount screw up the delicate electronic logic ?  :laugh:

Do you mean green instead of amber or white? Then it's definitely cost. I don't have any numbers, but looking back, green tubes were much more common and thus cheaper than the others.
If you mean green instead of colour. Well, it was designed as a sophisticated type write with additional CP/M capabilities and thus business applications. The ASIC does not do colour.
