Hello,

For information, I have a copy of Head Coach v3, except it's not a pukka version.

The reason for this - I was actually involved in the conversion of this game from the BBC original to the PCW, I extracted the BASIC code from a BBC disk and did the initial conversion to Mallard BASIC, Colin Adams then did the rest of the work, and I think I did some playtesting of the final version.   So I have the prog/data files for the finished product, but never on a 3" disk, but I could put it onto a 3" disk if needed.   I do however have a proper final manual/play book, which is in mint condition.

I'd guess that you'd rather 'archive' a proper version?

Good afternoon, in the disk units section, we have added the diagram of the EME-156 unit. This is mounted on the spectrum + 3 but it is valid for CPC and PCW also as a 180K unit. I have seen the manual in very low quality on the net and another where they have tried to redo it, but it contains many errors, especially in the values of the electronic components.

Good Morning. We have been able to preserve two new games to be added to the PCW roster. Greetings

GeoffB17

Hello,

That's great.   I see you've got the same Head Coach manual/package that I've got.

As I said before, the (maybe) big problem is that I'm not sure that the files that I've got are complete, or if they are complete, that they're in the original condition.   When your copy is available, I'll get the file to compare everything.

Geoff

Hello again. As soon as I have some time I will make a copy of the original game and upload it to the PCWWiki. We will notify you in the forum and you can already have the original and check if yours is correct. Greetings

Good morning, today we bring you from the PCWWiki for PCW`s and CPC's this wonderful spreadsheet called Multiplan. This spreadsheet is from Microsoft and one of a kind. We hope you enjoy it.

Good afternoon, from PCWWiki we leave you with "Nevada Pascal" a book based on the Pascal language. The book was written by Pascal programmer James R. Tyson in 1984, and published by Ellis Computing Software Technology. We hope you enjoy it.

Re Nevada Pascal.

I'm most definitely NOT a fan of Pascal, but this system seems to have a number of interesting features, not at all specific to Pascal, so I'll take a look.

I've found a set of 4 disks images to download, specifically for the 6128, but I'll extract all the files and see what's there, and get it running on my PCW.

While searching, I see there are some other 'Nevada' languages as well, Fortran, BASIC, Cobol, etc.   I don't know if they all have the same interesting extras?

Thanks for revealing this.

Update.  Files now transferred to PCW.   Actual compiler etc is first two disk images (CF2), second two are another manual (txt files) and some utility software.   The .PDF book though may be more useful.

In case anyone's interested, this Nevada package is actually v3.0 of JRT Pascal 3, and there's a bit of 'history' about this package.   It was getting some flak at the time (1983 ?) about the variances from Pascal 'proper' and also the package/marketing resulted in JRT going bust as they could not cope with demand based on the low price, also early versions had a LOT of bugs which hopefully were fixed by this version.   I hope!

Update 2:

This package is NOT a compiler.  Running the 'compiler' module creates an .INT (intermediate) file which may be comparable to the .REL file created by other compilers.  This module can then be 'run' using the EXEC4.COM, which provides an environment for the .INT module to operate it.   There is no free-standing .COM file created, unlike other 'proper' compilers.  There are benefits to this, the .INT file can access external modules (incl other .INT files, and .LIB files) while being 'executed', which might be helpful as opposed to needing to always include all the .LIB code into the .COM file.

Jevicac, I've scanned most of the "Echo du PCW" magazines that I had in my possession and they're now up at acpc.me and on my archive.org account.
A few issues are missing, but that's 32 more than before  :D . I think it could be nice to add them to PCWwiki (link or files directly).

Speaking of which, if someone have the missing numbers and could lend them to me or scan them to complete the series (300dpi png if possible) : Issues 17, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27,42  (and optionnally 28 and 29 as I had some missing pages)

Hello kailokyra, very good work, I have seen it. I have almost the entire collection. I am missing the numbers 33, 35 and 39. A month ago they were for sale but someone offered much more than me. When I have time I will continue. As you have seen, I only published the first 3 numbers because I try to keep them in very good quality. Regarding ACME he has a lot of material from the PCWWiki. Thanks for the offer. Greetings

Good evening, today from PCWWiki we leave you with Pro Scan, an image capture device (Scanner) that connects to the expansion bus of the PCW. Hope you enjoy it

JohnElliott

I have a feeling that the ProScan software (at least some versions of it) could also use the scanning abilities of the Amstrad FX9600AT fax machine, as an alternative to the hand-operated scanner head.

jevicac

Thanks for the information JohnElliot, we would have to find information and attach it. The truth, I had no knowledge

Good evening, today from PCWWiki we leave you with PCW-Paint, an exclusive drawing program for PCW`s, based on the popular "Cherry Paint" for CPC`s. We hope you enjoy it
