Hope the CPC community loves this mag. If it's popular, there's a chance of a follow-up.

so... ordered :-)

One comment for others from the EU: Besides the VAT there will be another £2 IOSS fee. They explain that they will do the IOSS, process so you don't have to pay taxes locally, but I only recognized the amount after the purchase was finished. Not sure if it was not mentioned or I didn't recognize it. So it's £12.50 + VAT + £2.

CrookieMonster

I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of shipping into the EU (and beyond) these days but I hope this helps.

Gryzor

Yeah, saw that fee as well after the translation was complete and did a double take... Oh well.

Yeah, I noticed this as well. Add in currency conversion and the whole thing ends up close to 20 euro, which is probably the most I've ever paid for a magazine in my life!

That being said, I haven't bought anything Amstrad related in a while and would like to see a sequel. So ordered!
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

CrookieMonster

Everyone ordering - thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Really, you are all amazing! I wish sending abroad wasn't so costly! CPC owners are the best!

Gryzor

This actually reminded me of when I first got a CPC in the mid-eighties, home computers fell under luxury VAT, damn... But, always worth it😅

Yeah, that's what I read too, so I expected the VAT/Taxes stuff. What they just don't mention is the additional fee THEY are charging. Sure, "just" 2 pounds, but it should be mentioned before - not after they already charged my credit card.

Not related to your magazine of course. Still looking forward to it.

Great to see those sample pages! Looks like it will be a good read!

I can confirm there will be a .dsk file of the type-in available too. I've just added it to my website, ready for when the magazine comes out. The link is in the magazine, and I'll put a public link on my website when the magazine's out too.

Mine arrived today, I skimmed through it and that is what hit me - it was like going back to 1985/6! Awesome job to the creator

CrookieMonster

Thanks so much! Copies of Amstrad Adduct are indeed now in their way to readers. 😀 Anyone attending Play Expo Blackpool can also buy a copy and orders can continue to be placed online.

norecess464

... and as usual, I will have to wait 2 weeks before my copy arrives at my (Canadian) home. >:( ;D

My current project is Sonic GX, a remake of Sonic the Hedgehog for the awesome Amstrad GX-4000 game console!

I love how the British 464 could interface with not only one, but actually two disk drives without any additional hardware. Us peeps from the continent had to do with that dreaded DDI-1 interface hogging at the rear of the CPC :(

PS: Ordered by copy 5 minutes ago
** My website ** Some music

My hardware: ** Schneider CPC 464 with colour screen, 64k extension, 3" and 5,25 drives and more ** Amstrad CPC 6128 with M4 board, GreaseWeazle.

I'm not so sure about that, owning a 464 in Ireland, I can confirm that UK 464's needed that as well. The other port was for printers.
Edit: It also didn't have the AMSDOS ROM built into the machine to handle any disk drives, which is why you needed the DDI-1. Inside the grey box that connected the drive to the machine, resided said ROM. Unless you had a 664 ROM plugged into your 464, no drive would be picked up.
