Anecdote!
i was in germany to the Mekka Symposium 1997, a convention (mostly PC, some Amiga, some C64 and ONE CPC, mine!)
i was so happy to see AEG from Smash Design but he did not speak english and my technical german speaking was too poor to discuss with him...
so yes, there is many people speaking only one language. Too bad for me there is many active spanish people and too bad for the other there is many french people

Doesn't seem very likely. You need to consider the cross-section of the two groups (French and non-French users, both speaking English and wanting the book).

Which is fair enough, you need to know your target audience. No point in mass producing a product that isn't going to sell in certain markets.

Some years ago, they have started to sell english versions of their best sellers on the english version of the website, and they have stoped.

If those publications were already offered in French then yeah, I can see that, but that's not what I'm talking about. If they published the book in English *only*, wouldn't the final buying audience be bigger?
Speaking of which, I don't think I had ever heard of them before so obviously it'll be hard to sell to foreigners if they don't market their stuff internationally...
