CPC-History–A new CPC games and tools archive
7 December 2012, 4:00 pm

Marco Sowa created a new archive site which tries to be an index for all released Amstrad CPC games and tools, containing screenshots, covers and ratings. The website is a community driven project, so you can help with voting for your favourite games and help with sending screenshots and cover images to improve the content. Visit http://www.cpc-history.com and help by contributing to the database.

All the best of luck to them. I'm not sure it's wise to add more sites instead of concentrating resources, but one more is better than none! :)

We saw couple of times what can happen if ressources are concentrated. They get wiped out in one strike...

I think it's a good idea to have alternatives and the site is really nice :)

Does this site has something special, which CPC-Wiki.eu or CpcGamereviews.com doesn't have?
I don't know, if it's good, when forces of the hobby-scene are splitted up too much on several equal projects?

Well, true, but we only saw that one time I think. Yes, it's the "don't put all your eggs in one basket" think, but when you only have, say, a couple of eggs (=limited resources) you don't use two baskets...

A larger scene, like the Spectrum one, can afford duplication of effort and stuff - it's good to experiment and something good comes out of it. But when there's only a handful of persons, it gets different.

I keep my Dizzy tapes in a different basket than my Chuckie Egg tape. You can't be too careful :D

Baskets? Take two and your backbone stays straight, else you get crippled. As we say... Only the donkey runs once ;)

To bring it from the metaphoric level to the intelectual level... is it a question of: Dictatorship versus Democracy? Probably/hopefully not. So why - the heck - is it a bad thing to have another CPC page? Do you like to have a c64 page rather than this nice site? I don't understand the problem here.

And ... during the past years I saw a couple of CPC pages disappear, not only one. A pity for all of them.

It's not a dictatorship vs democracy, far from it. To use your metaphor, it would be more like having one of either versus a multitude of either.
