Prevtenet, already known as the developer of the Zym Z-Machine, just released a noble collection of eBooks, using the chapter and hypertext capable .HLP format of the SymbOS help browser. This format enables documents with more than 100 nested chapters and total sizes of up to 1MB.

At least you should be able to use an NC100/200 soon and stay within the Amstrad world :)

Suddenly classic literature seems much more appealing! Whats the best way to generate these .HLP files?

Haha, yes, indeed, I had the same thought when I got these files from Prevtenet :)

I have two non published scripts for generating HLP files, an actual one for Python and an older one for VB.NET.
First you convert the text into a HTML-like document, which can be displayed in a browser.
Then you use my script to generate a .HLP file (and optional another one for compressing it, but this requires SymbOS 4).

If you are interested, I can send you the script + some documentation how to prepare a HTML, so that it can be converted into HLP.

Meanwhile I added a genre filter to the download section:

...and as I couldn't resist: 10 s&s fantasy novels of one of my favourit authors have been added as well.

It would be amazing if you could provide the scripts. What's the maximum file size for a .HLP? I'm guessing the compressed versions would be considerable smaller...
