As a result, certain primers actually etch the surface and provide the finest grip for all applications. The problem with keys is that they do get very worn out. I probably used Mr Surfacer 1000, a fine pigment filler and basecoat for models, but I didn't truly complete this phase. To use it in an airbrush, you must use Mr Color Thinner. There is no one single answer for all primers, I'm afraid, so you would have to do your research on the material the keycap is composed of and the paint you are applying.
