Hi Everyone. I'm Alex. I'm here because I just got a GX4000 and would love to join the community.

I came a long road from collecting videogame-console-related stuff in my teenage years to collecting and restoring arcade cabs as a grownup and now ending up at the present day with a big basement full of stuff and a workbench where I do mods, repairs or just tinker around with electronics. No, I'm not a pro in electronics but I have acquired a load of equipment over time. I know eagle and get my own pcbs made from time to time. Also I'm an addict to RGB/Csync-Signals on CRT TVs or video-monitors such as the PVM-series from Sony. I usually hang out on circuit-board.de, that's a german retro-modder board. Also I started tweeting my latest stuff, follow me on twitter if you like.
I think I would describe myself as a very social person, I like to help as much as I like to expand my knowledge about videogame-electronics.
So anyways, that much to introduce myself and I hope you guys won't mind if start asking questions right away.

Greetings @ArcadeTV and welcome to the wiki!  ;D
I know you will find this community extremely friendly. I am not one of the tech-heads  :'( but I know that the right people will try to help you with your questions as soon as they can.

Hi ArcadeTV,
welcome to the forum. I am one of the Hardwaretype people here on the forum and also take a great interest in producing the best picture on modern displays (as you may have seen). You also seem to live very close to me!  :o   I don't think I've ever visited circuit-board.de , but I'm about to go over there and have a browse.

Bryce.

He-heeey, a hardware geek! The more, the merrier!

Welcome mate :)

ArcadeTV

what a lovely place :-)

Gryzor

Yes it is!

Every Friday evening we lay back, kick our shoes off and tell stories from our days of CPC youth while gulping beer or sipping gin. For a time we used to hold tea parties but the lack of women made it a bit uncomfortable and we dropped it. We all remained friendly and lovable though.

Hi Alex!

English: Warm welcome here! [nb]Awesome how short things can be told in English.  ;) [/nb]

Thanks :)

Sorry, might be a stupid question but I just HAVE TO ask...
You seem like someone who would be able to write some kind of bootloader for an all-in-one-gx4000-games-32mBit-eeprom, right?
I have no real clue about such things to be honest but if I would concatenate all games into one single file and burn this to an eeprom, would it be possible to do the bankswitching from there?

I'm already layouting a pcb in eagle, please get it touch if you could help with the software-part. Thanks!

TFM

Well, Arnoldemu already made some kind of 'file system' for the Cartridge.

However, I'm glad to help. Contact me via email and let's talk about details. (Which games, and so on).
It's futuresoft at gmx (.) de
