A dirty AY rework of Curt Cool's Karate Geishas from the Oldskool Executable Music Compo at Revision 2014.
It's a really loud, dirty piece of music designed to burst your ear-drums!

Enjoy! ^_^

It occurred to me that you guys might not know, but h0ff does a 2 hour set every other Monday night on nsbradio.co.uk: Schedule | Breaks & Breakbeat Radio | NSB Radio | Electronic Dance Music | Live

It's always good and sometimes he plays just protracker or just demoscene music... :)

I read this post and immediately thought you were talking about  The Hoff.

MaV

<rhetorical>Do you mean that Hoff?</rhetorical>

David Hasselhoff - Thirsty for Love

I wonder what happens if you play that song backwards ...

I always wanted to ask (but was never drunk enough to do so... but I am, now) what is it that the Germans like so much about The Hoff? He's regarded as a joke in his own country! A country not exactly known for ripping into their own idols... as such!

MaV

Well, you are asking the wrong person, but I'm guessing an affinity for cars (Knight Rider, see Prodatron) and then his songs perfectly fit the "Schlagermusik" paradigm.

Compare the Hoff's songs to beauties like:

Stefanie Hertel - Wachgeküsst-Schlagerhits-Schlager-Schlagermusik
Wachgeküsst = kissed awake

Stefanie Hertel - Totale Gefühle (2005)
Totale Gefühle = total feelings (whatever that means)

Personally, I can't listen to such songs for more than perhaps 30 seconds then I'm out. Let that be a warning to everybody who clicks on these links. (The first link will gain you a deep insight into the kind of people that listen to such music.)

Oh yes, and listen to this "beauty" from '83 (beyond Eden):

Nino de Angelo - Jenseits von Eden - Hits des Jahres - 1983

Similarities in looks to Paul Young are completely "incidental".

I'm feeling sick now, need a dose of heavy metal to live in balance again.

Stefanie Hertel is for beginners. Go to a party where you end up having to endure an hour of Patrick Lindner, Hansi Hinterseer and Die Wildecker Herzbuben and suddenly The Hoff sounds like a really good idea :D

Bryce.

MaV

Brrrr. The first rule of MaV club is: You don't talk about those guys.

(I never even knew about Stefanie Hertel until today when I googled Schlagermusik and found her an adequate example.)

But we're already one name short of impending doom; don't mention HIM!

(and for all other readers, Bryce's names are all Austrian examples of the same crap).

I guess one can ignore Schlagermusik when it comes to family. ;)

And I didn't even post some even worse "offenders", it's my moral duty not to spread the suffering.

@Mav: Don't mention HIM????? There's no end to the list, there are so many to choose from. Two spring to mind (starting with D and W) :)

You are right, there's quite a lot. I was thinking of the one who inherited that infamous TV show, A. B.
Now, back on topic. *shudder*

Great show as ever. Looking forward to meeting him (hopefully) this June... and then apologising for defiling his tunes on our AY chip!

If you mean you'll be at Sundown, then I'll get to meet you too! :)

Sounds good... it's a shame I have no talent at all or I'd release a demo/something while I'm there!
