ABC management decided that they wanted a female co-host on GG, so they did a casting call, and auditioned a bunch of people. And kept the whole thing secret from Junglist and GG. When they picked Hex and she was ready to go, they called Junglist into a meeting and fired him on the spot - which was the first that he or any of the rest of the GG production team was told that anything was up.


Note: Junglist was the one who created GG, and is hugely knowledgeable and has an incredible journalistic voice for videogaming. He deserved far better than to be kicked off his own show like that.

Surely if that kind of thing was happening there would be Lawsuits with big payouts accompanying it, along with Royalty payouts per episode along with Acknowledgements of it's Creator.

Junglist created GG (well, co-created, along with one of the producers), but he didn't *own* it. It's an in-house ABC production, and the GG team are ABC employees. So yeah, the ABC could do what they like (including cancel it and fire everyone.)

They still should have handled this about five hundred times better than they did. When the social media backlash occurred, they even had the gall to flat-out lie about their actions.


Seriously, Auntie, sometimes you make me want to agree with Alan Jones, and that thought makes me nauseous.


Anyway, Junglist has been doing the videogame journalism thing in other venues since. He's also done a web series called "5-Inch Floppy" that ended last year.
