After 8 years of abstinence, I now bought a used car.
It's not something very special, but a good little car for driving from A to B ;)
And the price was unbeatable!

VW Polo, from 97/04.
203.000 km, 37kw, 50ps
With all necessary checks we need here in Germany. (TÜV, ASU)
And the price?

Well...
Just 800€!

Now I'm back in real life ;)

My drives A: and B: are stacked on top of each other, so I don't need a car to go from one to the other :D

Very nice, but seriously high mileage! I hope it servers you a few years.

Thats you, eh? :D

Well I've seen many more Polo's with up to 300.000km which still drive without any problems ;)
Water pump is new, some other parts are new... So why not? ;)

I thought the Mileage was pretty good, I had a 96 Sonata which had clocked 200,000 back in 2005 when I got it, it had almost done 100,000 around 2000 - though it was the sort of car you'd take on long trips. I paid heaps for it when I got it though and was worth diddly squat when I sold it. I somewhat knew though I wasn't going to get much for it as it was pretty much almost ready for the wreckers! Hopefully your VW Polo should go well, they've been making them cars for years, even today their supposed to be a really economical car.
* Using the old Amstrad Languages :D   * with the Firmware :P
* I also like to problem solve code in BASIC :)   * And type-in Type-Ins! :D

you've been had : this is a German car.

They are notorious for being lame and never last long.
Also the mecanic is archaic and often badly though.

VolksWagen ? is that some communist brand ?

You should have got a LADA. ;D

Sorry guy, trolling as every body knows french cars are superior...humhum.
And if i recall well my darling last car was also a VW. ::)

Anyway, having a car is always good.
now you may attend to retro-parties.

I do have a white Clio.
usefull but to be fair I use my bike more often.

Mileage.
In France we always believe german cars can really go far beyond anything else, is that true ?
Anyway provided the engine was well cheked and last user had no accident... and could manage the gears well.

there is no reason to be afraid.

but hey, german drivers are notorious for flooding our french highways on summer, don't you dare do it please...
because of you a waste hours to go on the seacoast.

hier, das ist ur dich.

but you need a ladder or an elevator then ? ;D

Bryce

You drive a Renault? And how do you get back home, with the Bus? :D

French Highways also aren't real highways, because you can only drive 130Kmh, but that's ok, because you have to stop and pay every 3km anyway :D

My favourite drive in France is around the Peripherique in Paris, that's just scary.

I don't need a ladder to get from A to B either, I simply use the |A or |B commands :)

I have a 2000 VW Polo (well, my wife does  :P ).  It's a good little run about.  The rear seats flip over and under themselves so they fold flat - you can get many servers loaded into the back of the car!

Seriously though, all you need to keep an eye on is the exhaust - our car eats exhausts and the exhaust sensors.  It fails the emissions test every 2 years without fail.      Although, we're not sure if it is a fault with the car or my driving style when I drive the car - it's like driving a go-kart!    enjoy!!!!

I have the same model, Markus, nice car :) But... put an eye in the electric windows (if applicable), they break very frecuently...

Well, the windows move mechanically ;) And they move slightly... So all is ok (now) :D
