QuoteIt's lots of fun, and amazing what can be accomplished with a tame 4MHz processor...
Yeah, provided you buy the especially designed limited edition extension card needed to run those... ::)

Run which ones? Even SymbOS runs fine on my stock 6128 without the Symbiface attached...

Yeah, it runs itself, but can't run anything else... :D

First the bad news: your friend ripped you off. Maybe not on purpose, but on eBay you can usually find a 6128+ with color monitor for maybe 120 euros. Of course the mono monitors are quite rare (never seen one up close myself) (I think DevilMarkus has one?), but that's because nobody really wants them :D
Nope, the price for this specific CPC 6128+ ist absolutely ok and I guess it would never be an option to replace the black-white monitor with an colour one, because it would "damage" the design ;D.

That's right. Because they share especially a similar name. But neither one needs the other. The SF2 is the successor of the CPC-IDE, which was developped in a time where SOS simply didn't exist. However SOS does support most of the functionality of the SF2 card.

thank you for this statement. i am happy that someone confirms that i didn't paid to much for the cpc plus. and you are right: to replace the monitor will definitely damage the design. so i think about using the s-video-adapter from bryce for adding an external monitor.
