Hello guys!

Some of you may remember RetroBoy . Well, here's something even better:

I've been chatting with John Parker, creator of a great, great retro-filter camera for iOS devices. Here's what it does:

Tired of the overabundance of colours and pixels on all these newfangled devices? Now you can safely retreat to a time when you could count the number of available colours on one (potentially distressingly excessively fingered) hand.
Simply take a picture (or select one from your photo library) and you can display it as it would appear on a wide variety of computers and consoles from the 80's and 90's including the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, IBM PC CGA and even the original 1984 model Apple Macintosh. To best present your blocky masterpiece, you can also tweak each image using a multitude of dither patterns and image enhancements.

Once you're done, share your images with friends and foes alike. Or just keep them to yourself. It really doesn't matter. (You should probably be outside enjoying yourself - this obsession with technology simply isn't healthy.)

The latest version (release 1.8 ) is now available in the App Store.
The current emulations as of release 1.8 are:
*Teletext
*Apple ][ (Low res)
*Atari 2600 (NTSC, PAL & SECAM)
*Intellivision
*IBM CGA (6 variations)
*BBC Micro (Modes 0, 1 & 2)
*Sinclair ZX Spectrum
*Commodore 64 (Low res & high res modes)
*Colecovision
*Dragon 32 (PMODE 3)
*Thomson TO7
*MSX (Screen mode 2 and (for comedy value) 3)
*Sinclair QL (Low res & high res modes)
*Apple Macintosh (Original 1984 model)
*Thomson MO5
*Amstrad CPC (Modes 0, 1 & 2 in both colour & green screen versions)
*Commodore C16/+4 (Low res & high res modes)
*IBM EGA
*Commodore Amiga (OCS - 320x256 in 32 colours and 640x256 in 16 colours)
*Atari ST (320x200 in 16 colours and 640x200 in 4 colours)
*Sega Master System
*MSX 2 (Modes 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8)
*Acorn Archimedes (11 modes)
*IBM VGA (Mode 13h)
*Sega Mega Drive
*Nintendo Game Boy
*SAM Coupé (Modes 3 & 4)
*Amstrad 464/6128 plus
*Sega Game Gear
*Super Nintendo Entertainment System
*Nintendo Game Boy Color

Dither modes:
*Floyd-Steinberg
*Atkinson
*Stucki
*Sierra (Standard and two row)
*Bayer 4x4
*Bayer 8x8

(Note: : In the current release (1.8.x), the Amstrad 464/6128 plus emulation is inaccurate in that it allows 27 active palette entries, but I'll address this in the next release so that it uses the same restrictions as the standard CPC but with a 12-bit source palette instead of the fixed 27 colour palette. (Incidentally, in terms of the CPC green screen modes, I've used the simulated palette entries from List of 8-bit computer hardware palettes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)).

Here are some examples from the CPC filter:

Hopefully John will get round to supporting the Android platform soon enough. For the time being, since there are some iOS users here (a few, judging from the site stats - we're a reasonable bunch ;) ), here are some...
