QuoteAtari 8bit owners prepare yourself for an all time classic platforming game, a game that has it's own cult following, a gem in the retro scene. It's none other than Rick Dangerous, developed by Core Design and published by Firebird in 1989 for the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and DOS.

I must admit over this past month I'm getting really impressed by the Atari 8bit and it looks like I might have to get one! But on topic to the Amstrad, although I really enjoyed playing it and it looks fantastic, did anyone else notice the game has slow downs? Will this ever be fixed?

I have finished all versions on every platform except the new cpc release because I don't have a plus machine.

Can't wait for this.

Doesn't the C64 version have a brownish level too. I think it's on level 1,2,3,4,5,6......  :D

That is true, nothing is compared to cpcs palette.
But C64s palette is not so washed up as we see, with the right cable you can get this :

Photo out of focus but the colors are good.

To be fair, the C64 in NTSC isn't all that bland or brown, but I like poking fun at it anyway :)

I didn't realise C64 Dizzy's were Speccy ports too.   You even see the background coming through the 'black' parts of his face which the CPC version filled and shaded in.    C64 Dizzy is like a ghost.
Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

the level1 is mostly greyish but I should check again... after all you have only 2 choice : grey or brown so we may be both right.
