Hah, OutRun was the first game I purchased for my Amiga back in the day! When I got home with it, it turned out the disk was broken (the sliding protective metal thingy was bent out of shape), so I returned it and got my myself Test Drive II instead. I only found out years later in UAE that the Amiga OutRun port was a complete turd. So thank God I did not waste my money on that! Test Drive II was pretty cool though.

I've tried the PC Engine version mentioned in the video today and it's pretty nice indeed. At least I'm doing a bit better at it than the arcade original.  :)

I suspect you will be wishing these videos came before your purchase.

ditto on the PC engine version, playing that on my jxd s7800b right now. It's brilliant.

Yes, I've never given much thought to PC Engine/TurboGrafx before because it mainly has Japanese conversion games I'm not very interested in. But boy oh boy, its hardware is pretty sweet as the OutRun conversion shows. Too bad it did not sell very well outside Japan. It was really ahead of its time.

Ah, the Test Drive series on the 16-bitters was such a joy...
