A modern 8-bit computer (with C64 roots). Really like the case design, wonder if other 8-bit micro bitstreams will ever be available for it or would a Mist board be dropped in easily.

It's based on the C65 I believe, but with extras?

Our equivalent would be a 6128PlusPlus?

Eh, what case design? That's a picture of an original Commodore C65. As far as the electronics are concerned, the MiST is miles ahead of it. Ralferoo's FPGA is probably well ahead of it too. They haven't even designed the hardware themselves, it's running on an evaluation board (A €300+ evaluation board at that!). Progress so far: A half implemented C64 core for FPGA and a webpage that gives more space to social media links than actual content.

@Gerald: Yes, it's terrible. It also makes me think "too much fancy formatted blah blah: project will never get completed".

You can get that board for $170 if you shop around (and pretend you're a student)

Yes the C65 is really nice design but not exactly something you'll pick up on amibay now is it ? So if these guys manage to produce a proper im cases and not 3d printed crap them I'm all in but ya I'm doubtful as to whether or not it'll ever take off.

Nope, give me some white space so that I can breathe. I hate pages that look like a newspaper.

Well, this one look more like a marketing flyer, not like a project page.
I may take inspiration for the next CprSelect version : 1 CPR displayed per screen link and BIG font, and obviouly no directory support : all on 1 page  ;D

It doesn't matter, when clicking on "Replies" or "Unread" it pops up.

I agree with all the comments (and, really, one-page sites/templates are the latest shitty thing to appear in web design), but come on guys, maybe you're being a bit too harsh? Let's see how/where it goes...

The case is not new, of course, but indeed if they manage to recreate it (NOT through 3D printing but proper plastics) it'd be very neat. However, as with all such machines, I think it'd be stupid to limit it to the c6x - how about other cores? A HTCP?

Bryce

It's not just the webpage, it's the whole approach, and making a fancy webpage BEFORE they have anything to show. In comparison, the Armiga: Armiga Project – A new way to play old Commodore Amiga Games – Retrogaming also has that crap format, but they also have a real product that they have already made and you can buy.

I don't mind that layout if it is for an upcoming project and information is a bit thin on the ground but when there is more info available and it is released then a proper website is needed.

I'm waiting until they do an A1200 version with AGA support :)

Bryce.

CraigsBar

Since the Amiga code boots from the SD card, surely that is only software. So new SD card when it's ready?

It probably depends on the hardware a bit too. If the processor isn't running fast enough it may not be able to emulate AGA fully. But I've no idea, we'll see.
