Spectrum tape/disk image resource

For the Speccy folk amongst us?
Where's the best resource to get a somewhat complete set of games? Basically I'm filling up the memory card on my Pi and have Amstrad, c64, Gameboy (as well as colour and advance), NES, Mastersystem, Megadrive, SNES, N64 and PC Engine so far.


I'm interested in adding the speccy to this, but any resource I've stumbled across was a mess. Found a torrent some years back, multiple formats of the same game dumped per folder. The Speccy section of unit.no is a mess compared to the CPC section over there.


Or am I doing it all wrong?

World of Spectrum has always been the place to download Spectrum games, although there are limits on how many files you can download over a certain time period in order to prevent leeching. I don't know how much longer the site is going to last, though... (If you've been following their forums over the last couple of months, you'll know what I mean. )

The Speccy section of unit.no is a mess compared to the CPC section over there.

Oh crap, I went to pleasuredome to see what's on torrent and they only have a 87GB snapshot of WoS!

I've a DivIDE2K11 that came with a CF Card packed with a well sorted collection of Spectrum Games. I could look at zipping it and sending it to you?

You're quite welcome. My CPC set that I downloaded in 2003 for ArnoldX on the xbox still gets used on the pi and on my PSP to this very day. Nicely sorted by category and all the same format. Why the hell did the speccy need so many different formats? Titles are all over the place! So the CPC end of things is alright in my book.

87GB?! I think my 32GB card may struggle with that. xD
For me, personally, there's way too much misc stuff that comes with things. No disrespect to those who take hours out to re-write games etc, but for me, it's all about the original releases. The original run for nostalgia's sake. Not a massive fan of PD or home-brew. Strictly personal taste (and other disclaimers to avoid hurting the feelings of those who can't handle the internet  )

The No-Intro Rom sets on the Internet Archive includes a zip archive of Spectrum disk images.. and all the other consoles that you've mentioned for your RaspPi

To Unarchive on my MAC i had to use the "Unarchive" application, IZip would not work, BetterZip Would not work..
