Hi Guys,

I have a new update for this week's work on Starquake complete with a lovely new video for your vieweing pleasure - so if you want to know more about what I've been up to head right over to here: Starquake Update: 19/10/2012: Two new nasties : endangermice | Retro Computing

I was also interviewed by the excellent guys at Retro Asylum where I spent an hour talking about why I think the Amstrad is such a fantastic 8-bit computer. If you fancy having a listen pop over to here: Retro Asylum Podcast Episode 24 1/2 – Endangermice |

Cheers,

Nice video, game looks like it is coming along nicely!

Thanks Briggsy,

Yeah the game is coming along very nicely now - after many hours of work it's finally on the home straight. There's still quite a lot to do but my aim is to try and get an important update out at least once a week.

I'm just really looking forward to getting it done so everyone can enjoy playing it!

Damien - that is looking absolutely superb.
Starquake was a game I could beat without cheats or a map(!) back in the day, and I'm really looking forward to your remake.

The story of your remake's development is fascinating reading as well.
Top stuff.

Ervin, thanks for your kind words. Starquake was also a game I was able to complete without cheats or a map. I do remember the hardest area to access was Optik which also happens to have the most varied graphics of the whole game. I remember being very excited to finally get there!

I'm really trying to make this remake as authentic as possible while tweaking the game slightly so it's fit or re-emergence in 2013,

I've just loaded up Starquake and had a look - Optik was indeed a nice surprise!
Is that the only place that the octopus appears in?

Statements like that makes me want to take a look at the game again.

I found Starquake very cozy when I saw it the first time, but fairly quickly concluded it was yet another one of those games you just couldn't possibly get through without cheating (unless you were the author of the game).

So when you say it's not like that, then it seems like it's a game I'd like to play. So I better have another go at it sometime in the near future.  :)
Do you need music for your Amstrad CPC game project?
Take a look at IndieGameMusic.com - that's where I put my tracks.

Olly is on the quit screen, also.
