Filmed at Play Manchester 2014, Paul Drury from Retro Gamer magazine hosted a live debate asking 4 industry veterans (John Gibson, Ste Pickford, Andy Walker & Jeff Minter) what was better... The C64 or the ZX Spectrum.

Would be interesting, but I have a hard time hearing what they say with all that buzz noice. Maybe if they added subs?

TFM

Well, regarding games like Driller f.e. the Speccy will beat the c64 with its lame cpu.

Yeah I can only apologise about the sound. I didn't actually get to attend Play Manchester myself this year so this was recorded for me on an iPad. I usually take a decent set up but it's always extremely noisy at these events so getting decent audio can be tricky at the best of times.

Another nice article is here.

I LOLed at the Amstrad CPC mention near the end:

Quote"We did meet the designers of the Amstrad CPC464, they walked up to our stand at one of the first exhibitions and accused us of modifying the hardware of the Amstrad on our stand because it was doing something they regarded as completely impossible," he says.

"What I was doing was changing the video mode several times during the active video period so that I could mix the different resolutions and have more than four colours, but still use the high resolution mode - that was in Tank Busters... They were quite aggressive about it. I remember being fairly rude about a number of mistakes they'd made in the design. It could have been so much better with a couple of tiny changes that wouldn't have cost anything at all. Gah..."

The noise on that is giving me a proper headache.

Shame about the noise, but at least someone was thinking of recording the debate, so thanks!

I loved how you guys voted Amstrad for winner at the end. :D (and I guess you were lucky to get out alive after outing yourself. ;) )
