Ok. I was 8 when I had my 464 with DDI-1. (I'm now 45)
I've just replaced the belt on my 6128 (the old one had gone like a hard grease, foul)
I've only got 1 disc at the moment and I've written a simple basic program to it (10 print "hello world"; 20 goto 10) to prove the read/write is working...
I've been trying for over an hour now to delete it from the disc. I can;t remember the basic command to delete a file.
Quite literally, how do I delete hello.bas from the disc.
I'm so ashamed....
Also, the disc I have is one of the multi title ones that would have come with the machine. A 'CAT' command show Disk. * Disk1. * and Disk2. *
The label says See instruction booklet..... guess what?
I've tried {bar}cpm but that doesn't work. Any ideas gents?

|era,"hello.bas"
I hope that that helps..! :)
Thanks!
I don't think I would have ever got to that. Especially with that comma in there.
Don't like making it easy do they?
Now, just to find out how to load the games is all that's left....
Loading a game is done with the command
run"filename"
And regarding deleting a file, I wanna add for anyone using a CPC464 and finding this thread, that it's done like this on the CPC464:
a$="hello.bas"
|era,@a$

Some bedtime reading perhaps?

Bryce.
I've tried the usual run"disk.*" and it seems to load something from the disk but nothing starts and there is no listing.
Don't suppose someone has the Instruction Booklet.
It's the multi disk with NOMAD etc on.
I'm obviously missing something obvious
Type "Cat" (minus the quotation marks) to see what files are on the disc - if "Disc" is there try that - "Disc" as opposed to "Disk" was often used.
Cheers,
Peter

I hate to repeat myself but...

Thanks for repeating yourself Bryce, but I saw it the first time and the only instructions in that manual say type run"disk.*' or similar.
The files on the disk are literally.... Disk. * Disk1. * and Disk2. *
No .com or .bas etc.
When I try the run command on those filenames, the drive sees them, spins up but then it goes back to the 'Ready' prompt.
Other than the ¦cpm command (which doesn't find a boot sector) is there some other way.
The instruction booklet it talks about I presume is that which came with the game. Hence the request.
Any help is much appreciated. When I get home I'll take a video of what is happening so you guys can be more informed as I appreciate my explanation may be somewhat lacking.
Looking forward to your help!
Leave the dot and the astrerix off, ie: RUN "Disk
Bryce.
If you can't resolve this problem, send the disc (with a stamped sae) to me and I'll have a look at it.
Cheers,
Peter
