Just watched the youtube video of this - looks very pretty, great job! At some point in the next few months I'll dig out one of my CPCs and give it a try.

I'm losing hope here!

We have art for the manual, but not a finished cover. The game is starting to be a bit "old news", at least for me.

As I say, I'm not sure this is happening. Poly may want to see if there is some interest, or may be is best to call it off :(
Released The Return of Traxtor, Golden Tail, Magica, The Dawn of Kernel, Kitsune`s Curse, Brick Rick, Hyperdrive and The Heart of Salamanderland for the CPC.

If you like my games and want to show some appreciation, you can always buy me a coffee.

Preorder of the Collector's Edition of Heart of Salamanderland is open now:

It has happened a bit later than I was expecting, but I like the result. Hopefully I'm not the only one!

Nice... I just saw that they join the classic computing conference in Hof. Do you know if they will also sell their (CPC) games there?

I don't know. Previous years they weren't allowed to sell stuff at their booth.

Polyplay was an official seller last year on the CC, I am sure they will sell stuff this year again!

I just played the DSK version (on a real CPC!). It's very nice! As I'm used to play your previous games, I wasn't too surprised at the game mechanics and the engine. It's a classical platformer - maybe slightly too much to my taste, especially since I loved Golden Tail so much - but all in all it's very well done. Lovely graphics, nice music. It's a pretty hard game, 3 lives is really not a lot! I think a password system would have really been useful.

Congrats!

Thank you!

I admit I tend to make the games on the hard side of things; but everything is possible and being an 8-bit game, is kind of needed if you want to make 50+ screens feel truly epic :D

In my experience, people bouncing will bounce anyway, but those persisting will love it (hopefully). I know you play on the real hw, but in emulators using snapshots is OK and it is the perfect excuse for me not implementing continue checkpoints points or passwords ;D

Ah, I disagree on that point. I understand this requires more work to implement password and the likes, but playing on the real hardware should be the ultimate goal, plus the game looks (and sounds!) better on the hardware, so by not making the game easier on hardware, you're shunning away the "real" CPCists!

It all depends, IMHO. People playing in the real hw I would consider them "hardcore" and not "casuals". I've made easier games that can be finished in a evening, and I regretted it; specially because you know how log does it take to make a game like this one :D

Once you complete an easy game, there's not reason to go back to it. But then people tell me that they still play Dawn of Kernel, Brick Rick, Magica, etc; because there is a challenge (and OK, may be they didn't finish those games).

I appreciate your feedback. I've included "continues" and passwords in games that supported that well, so I'm not completely against it.

Or maybe have several difficulty levels with different live count. And a "special" ending more (a simple message could be enough...) to congratulate the bold adventurers.
