Emulators / Re: CPCEC a new emulator from cngsoft
« Last post by cpcitor on Today at 12:54 »
I'm always impressed by the level of precision cpcec appears to reach.

Anyway, latest release is now reflected on https://github.com/cpcitor/cpcec .

Propagated this update from http://cngsoft.no-ip.org/cpcec.htm

Quote
20210428 -- minor patch fixing bugs in the firmware INI handler (spaces must be trimmed on both sides of each string) and in several tape fastloaders, and adding inverse video 8-bit characters to the debugger's memory dump.

Updated repo is as always on https://github.com/cpcitor/cpcec .

Interesting. Is CRTC 1 (other than the current consumption) somehow different? The current consumption could be due to using a more modern process.

Ok. And is it identical to one of the other CRTC's? Or is it unique?
As I know, only UMC is "CRTC 1" and it consumes half the current compared to others.

Not emulated - original hardware and software.

Please note that  the aspect ratio for this YouTube video is 16:9 but the CPC monitor
has an aspect ratio of 4:3 so you may wish to adjust your viewing device accordingly.

So LAN works and WAN fails. It is likely the DNS lookup that is failing.
Oh, good point! I wasn't ready for internet issues on my CPC!
6
Uhhmm, it's on the wiki Site ...
Right! That's the issue: the info is scattered. It's ok to have different docs for user/developers, but there should be a canonical page for each!

Games / Re: Target Renegade (cracked version)
« Last post by dragon on Today at 11:21 »
I only speculate, but maybe the cracker kill the firmware. (o the game kill the firmware). So the cracker to write something in the screen need made their own asm screen  subroutine If he have space....

Put the cpc in black requires only few bytes...

Around extract the disk and insert it.....

Thats interesting, that remember me the cog-swap tecniques from playstations.

Sound that it need load something.. Or he need wait some obscure status of fdd.

I am sure there something related to the copy protection...

As he want inject some data... In a specific moment.

Technical Support / Re: CPC 464 - very quiet speaker audio

The capacitors in the amplifier might be failing.

Hum... No, the CRTC 1 was produced by UMC in 1985. So, they were able to do the same with the 765.

Ok. And is it identical to one of the other CRTC's? Or is it unique?

Bryce.
