you are right, its my system fault  :-X . I tried Pang and when both players hold button 1 or 2 simultaneously each control pad moves both characters, any help is welcome  ???
As @Phantomz , sorry to hear that. It's always sad when a GX-4000 is broken, not to mention that you it's maybe your only GX-4000  :-X

Odd! Anyone else getting this problem?

I can only test in emulation at the moment, I'm not getting the problem in winape or MESS.  ???
I can confirm, no problem for me on real system.

Applications / Re: Arkos Tracker 2 - Released!

The "is_paused" flag of teopl is a good idea, especially when playing on interrupts it can be easier than disabling/reenabling the interrupt handler.

Yet simply not calling _PLY_AK*PLAY will in many cases let the chip continue to emit a continuous signal, like a sustained note.

*PLY_AK*STOP should be understood as "just silence the chip" because it does just that and nothing else.

To pause a music in all cases you indeed need both:

(1) silence the chip with *PLY_AK*STOP
(2) don't continue to regularly play bits of the song, so no longer call *PKY_AK*PLAY (e.g. with the is_paused flag).

When you set is_paused to false and thus call *PKY_AK*PLAY again, the music will just continue as expected.

(If one wanted to play the song from the start, one would want to call *PLY_AK*INIT at any time.)

I have tried the donor drive that now doesn’t work in spare and it no longer works in the original donor either. Same lack of read and clicking noises.

Argh.

Sorry to hear this.  :(

Hopefully one of the clever hardware members on here might be able to tell you what might be wrong.  ::)
