A generic bus interface presents an opportunity to be able to bring FujiNet to anything with a card-edge, including all game consoles. We have several approaches being experimented with.

I've purchased a couple of packs of 3" Disc drive belts from Ebay recently.

From both suppliers, the Belts were too wide, they slip off the pulley as they don't sit right.

I solved the problem by cutting the belt along the length with a ruler and craft knife. This solved the problem.

I also temporarily tried a rubber band, but those slip and don't last as long, so not recommended.

In the future I need to find a supplier with a narrower drive belt.

At the moment, everything seems to be ok. Fingers Crossed.  :)

Fair enough, it was a while ago! I might have a couple of questions at some point about your "gang" though so I can tell the broader stories right if that's ok (I need to do some research/reading first).

I'm imagining that I might be able to tell this specific story as a way to touch on a number of facets of demo scene culture including how young we were (I think I'm a few years younger again which is why I never really got connected in to the scene), the "gang"/playground mindset, originality vs copying vs cracking and what it takes to earn respect etc.

Hi all,

I just spent a few hours adding the Tape mod to my 6128 PLUS.

Thankfully I didn't blow it up.

I used a 5VDC SPDT Relay for the remote control, and added an 8 way pin header to the main PCB.
The Relay is hot glued to the base of the 6128 PLUS and i put a general purposed Diode across the Relay Coil to protect the Transistor from feedback.

For the Transistor, I found a NPN Transistor on Amazon that doesn't need the legs crossing and matches the PCB. (see PDF).

So far, the 6128PLUS starts and pauses my old Data Recorder and Loaded "OH MUMMY".
I also managed to save a "HELLO" basic file to Tape.

I made a CAD drawing of the mod and attached a PDF copy for reference. see attached.

My first real "wow" moment was the GnG remake originally programmed by @Xifos back in 2016, if I'm not mistaken.

IMO It set the standard and showed us the path to follow for all modern games on the GX-4000! Let's give him the credit he truly deserves!  ;)

Speak for yourself! Weather is lovely here in November.

I'd say I can't wait, but I'm ok with waiting. Between this and the new GnG, the Plus is finally getting some games that show its true ability, and we only had to wait 35 years.

I have to assume that "the knack" was Roland Perry. By rights the CPC464 should have been a catastrophe.

Must be done by someone who has a better record of not breaking things.

Always nice to see, that we old Amstrad users have been produced nearly at the same time :D
