Games / Re: Amstrad Nightmares?

Quote from: merman on Today at 17:37So, we've had ZX Nightmares penned by Graeme Mason and Commodore Nightmares written by me and successfully funded on Kickstarter...

Would people be interested in an Amstrad Nightmares?

Looking back at the worst CPC and Plus games out there.
From Loathsome Licences (film, TV and terrible arcade conversions), the games so difficult they required the Patience of a Saint, the strange ideas and bizarre mechanics that made you say They Did What?, and finally the Simply Awful.

And what games would you include?
Yes, provided that lazy speccy ports were completely off the table, or in their own section - too much of an easy target, I feel.

Yeah but Amstrad nightmares would be double (or triple) the size of your previous book, considering the speccy conversions  :picard:

Quote from: andycadley on Today at 11:24Yeah, I feel like Burnin' Rubber takes a lot of the flack for being the GX pack in game and doesn't necessarily deserve it all. I do think it was an odd choice to go with a game style the hardware isn't naturally suited to, but I guess it was constrained into fitting into half of a small cartridge too.

how much space does it take on the cartridge?
I believe it's 64K. I'm pretty sure it says something to that effect in the Plus manual somewhere.
thats very impressive for 64K, i always assumed it was at least 128K, i checked the rom and its 128K but that probably include Basic also
Yes, 16K firmware, 16K BASIC and 16K AMSDOS. I suppose it's possible that the remaining 16K is also part of BR, but I don't believe so.

Amstrad CPC hardware / Re: Other Video Cards
Last post by zhulien - Today at 15:18
Qell that zeal gfx card exists and looking at the specs is designed to work on other computers if interfaced with it correctly.  Also, it has tiles and hardware sprites and is cheaper than the v9990.  It might be a good candidate to make an adapter for it.

Games / Re: The Key, a A "full" point ...
Last post by St-BeidE(DE/GB) - Today at 14:27

May you wait a couple of days? I have an 6128, but no tape or recorder at all. However,  I catched one on @bay, and already own the "adapter" cable needed...
I'll test save and load as soon as possible.
