Ok, thanks.
One other very stupid question: how do you stop a BASIC program on the MSX. Stop=pause: 2x Stop = pause and continue again.

I don't understand how this thread can become "X, Y or Z is the best", the question was VERY clear. And it gets annoying real fast.

Especially since the 464 is the best by far.

Quote from: ZorrO on 17:13, 06 September 24There is faster Basic for MSX2 on Cartridge, I forget name.
May you have one of these basic compilers in mind?

Quote from: ZorrO on 17:13, 06 September 24As I know most MSX2 have old Basic from MSX1, without extra command for new graphic modes and better more colors in sprites. So they have similar problem like CPC+ owners.
No, all MSX2 machines have MSX Basic 2.x. MSX had some very strictly defined standards.

The same for MSX2+ machines, which all have MSX Basic 3.0, and TurboR machines, which all have MSX Basic 4.x.

All these newer basic versions supported (most of?) the new features of the newer machine generations. So they didn't have the problems like the CPC+.

Maybe you mixed this with the Disc Basic version. Most had low version numbers like "1.0", see here (thanks to @Edoz(MSX) for the information!):

Quote from: dodogildo on Yesterday at 12:55After all that work went into the game itself, it would have been nice if the physical release had a hand-drawn cover art instead of an AI-generated one. They look great btw.
Physical version is mandatory, far before any digital release.
I'd love to have a hand-drawn cover and booklet illustrations but it has a cost.I'm not an illustrator so l may need to commission one.
Everything will depend on pre-orders.

For me the 6128, because I have many happy memories of playing games of the disk drive, thanks to a Multiface II.
However, I also have a soft spot for my Dad's PCW9512, which was great for writing school projects on. We even had a black and white hand scanner for importing drawings and artwork.

Quote from: Bryce on 14:07, 07 September 24The rounding at the top would suggest that it's a CRT, probably an Amstrad monitor. Have you tried adjusting the v-hold?

Bryce.
Yes, it is a CRT monitor, thanks Bryce. You mean adjust V-Hold of the CRT monitor? If so, why would it works perfectly with the CPC 6128 and only notice the vertical shift when tested with the CPC 464?

Yes, because no two setups are identical. Even a slightly different resistance or capacitance on the monitor cable (Sync signal) or the GA socket condition can change things.

Bryce.

For the 464. The coloured keys are so awesome! And if you open it, you find the tiniest, cheapest and emptiest of PCB's, yet it was able to deliver so much. It earns many point for having such beautiful, flexible and simple hardware design. Sure the tape deck is crappy, but having a hump on the right side affects all models, and having a floppy there is not much better.

If usb devices with fat32 are supported does that mean usb hard disks should work? Has anybody tried?

The 464 was my first computer and the 6128 was my second. I played more games on the 464 and did more programming and art on the 6128. I spent a good few years with each.

I have a 6128 and a 464 plus now, and although to me the 6128 is probably the one, I would still like to get a 464 with a green monitor like my first one someday. Looking back, I had a lot of games on cassette for the 464. I don't think I'll ever be as excited about something again.
