Title: CDT question
Post by: ComSoft6128 on 18:21, 11 April 21
Hi,

Is there software available to convert CDT files to DSK files for use in a Gotek?

Cheers,

Peter

If I'm not mistaken this has been asked a number of times before through the years and the answer was always no? Maybe I've missed something though.

Are those your own CDTs?

@Gryzor (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1) thanks for the reply.

No not my CDT files. I've been looking at the CPC Computing tape (later disc) magazine from ARGUS Press available from CPCPOWER & CPCRULEZ and most of them are CDT :(

If these are just basic files, they can probably be standard transferred over using an emulator using Bonzo Method 1 as part of Bonzo's Super Meddler tools?
Just do it in an emulator and save the blank dsk as something new and voila. :)

Good idea!

However that would take some time for each CDT file.

Mmm....If someone here can write a utility to do this for me (batch processing would be lovely :)  ) I'll pay £30 to their favourite charity with screenshot proof supplied.

The brown one has some neat apps for this but not the mighty CPC.
I use javacpc to transfer files between cdt<=>dsk.

Hi,

It's a manual work. Each basic file must be modified to allow chain execution of all programs (RUN"Name of the next program" instead of RUN"", LOAD"!Name.BIN" instead of LOAD"!")

Often asked question, and lots of software for it. People just forgot. Back the day Bonzos super meddler was often used to transfer from cassette to tape. But even CP/M 2.2 offers transfer software on the CPC.

Yes back then I used a few programs for tape to disc transfer but I was looking at a more modern solution - a Windows App perhaps.

Many thanks for your hard/laborious work, it is appreciated.
I'll post issue six tomorrow and the rest on a weekly basis after that.
Is there anything in particular you would like me to record for a YT video?
Least I could do :)
