After hard work i have my Amstrad CPC 464 alive and disc drive too EME 150 (after change drive belt and same cleaning and lubrification). Incredible after 35 years!!

I loose my cpm 2.2 disk and i found Dsk2cdt2disc amazing win application that can help me.
I try it on emulator to check how use it. All ok, i undestand how.

But when i try on my cpc464 it's reading the loader but after it do not transfer any file. It's run, the tape restart and the output is :
Found rsx block 1. The tape go ..... but nothing.

The cassette transfer is good. For Other cdt file for example games it"go.

Where can be the problem?

Excuse for my poor english.

Hi Vito!

I'm not sure what is happening here yet; the loader messages are supposed to be disabled.

Are you using the current release from github, or did you get it from somewhere else?

If you got it from somewhere else, try the latest version at the top of this page: https://github.com/pelrun/dsk2cdt2disc/releases

Also this was always designed to be used with a tape cable, not a real tape - it may be too fast for that.

Oh, the 464 would also be pausing the tape before loading the RSX file, maybe I just need to add a bit more time after the loader to account for motor stop/start.

Try rewinding the tape a bit when it first stops, to give it a chance to get the first block properly.

Thank you for your answer.
I'm not sure what you mean by tape cable.

I use multi cassette adaptor insert in CPC tape and connect the adaptor to my smartphone.

It's right?

Yes, an adapter is a great idea. Clean signal.

yes the problem when using a tape adapter inserted into the real tape reader of the cpc 464 are the pauses between the software blocks of the file created by disk2cdt.

I tried loading a cdt file using the pause button on my smartphone between blocks (very hard work) and was able to write the image to the physical disk.

it would be enough to lengthen the pauses between blocks of loader and rsx file by 1 or 1.5 seconds and everything would be perfect.

Perlun if you make the change I can test.

Crashes after converting, without any result  :-X
Tested on 2 Win10 and 1 Win11 machines. Last time I used it, was on a Win7 PC.
Used known well images that used before, and CMD - drag n drop functions.

Ugh, mingw's `basename` is broken. Ok, I've got a workaround in place.

Try this:

Test report:

Using last version for cpc464.
No problem to transfer dsk in data format type. I had transfer 4,5 dsk to disc without problem.

Error on track 7 when try to transfer dsk in system format like cpm/discology dsk.
The loader.bas fail to write track 7 and after press C overflow error on line 670.
Can you test this error in Cpc emulator too.

PS. For alla 464 users: When you transfer dsk trought multicassette tape adaptor put max level for volume headphone. ;)

Pelrun if and when correct the last error i can retest the procedure.

Please point me at specific images; the versions of cpm and discology I tried worked perfectly.

That's an *extremely* nasty copy-protected image; even with other methods you're not going to get that written correctly to a disc. Sorry!

You will need to use one of the cracked versions (from CPCPower or elsewhere); they aren't perfect but at least some of them will work reasonably well.

Ok it is clear.

For my use i can resolve in other way.

It is a good solution for cpc464 users without any mod to the tape reader.

Good job.
