I am trying to use the ANSI/VT100 emulator on an Amstrad CPC 464 (with ULIfAC) and a serial cable connected to a Unix host. It works but I have to load the terminal program first then disable the USB and set the serial line to 9600 baud. If the serial device (a TTL converter) is attached to the ULIfAC at boot it automatically disables the USB disk access so after a reboot I can't just load the program and do it again. So I am wondering if there are alternatives to load the EWEN term program, such as a ROM or maybe a CDT image? Anyone knows? The DSK images are available out there, is there a way to turn a DSK into a ROM or a CDT?

Thanks!!!

This is the page of the EWEN Term program: https://ewen.mcneill.gen.nz/programs/cpc/ewenterm/

I can see that the basic loader is loading a couple of binary files and then setting some details. I wonder if all this stuff could be either A) put in a ROM (at least the binary stuff) or B) Save everything on a tape with the ability to run it from there

you can use JavaCPC emulator to create CDTs from DSK images

iirc you cant have both serial and USB connected at the same time they both use the same port on the pic, easiest thing to do is just pull the power pin from the serial adapter to the ULiFAC before rebooting and then reconnect it once youve loaded the terminal..(or put in a switch)
