Post by: Audronic on 08:03, 12 August 16
Hi All

Is there a standard layout within a 27C1001 Eprom for a 6128 Plus Cartridge.

Amsdos
Basic
Parados
Burnin Rubber

In What order are the files placed in a 27C1001 Eprom for a 6128 Plus Cartridge

00,0000  to 00,BFFF   ? ?

00,C000  to 00,FFFF   Parados

01,0000  to 01,BFFF  ? ?

01,C000  to 01,FFFF  It looks like Burnin Rubber ? ?

Thanks    Ray

The four 16K blocks would be Lower ROM, BASIC, AMSDOS and Burnin' Rubber. I'd have assumed in that order, but I've never checked.

The system cartridge organisation is :

00000 - 03FFF : LOWER ROM (FW) / UPPER ROM 128
04000 - 07FFF : DEFAULT UPPER ROM  (BASIC) / UPPER ROM 129
08000 - 0BFFF : UPPER ROM 130 (Used by Burnin rubber)
0C000 - 0FFFF : UPPER ROM 7  (AMSDOS/PARADOS)/ UPPER ROM 131
10000 - 13FFF : UPPER ROM 132 (Used by Burnin rubber)
14000 - 17FFF : UPPER ROM 133 (Used by Burnin rubber)
18000 - 1BFFF : UPPER ROM 134 (Used by Burnin rubber)
1C000 - 1FFFF : UPPER ROM 135 (Used by Burnin rubber)

Now I would suggest to use the full 512 KB, not only 128 KB. For testing the great C4CPC is the perfect tool!  :)

Hi Ray,
It's all in the official Amstrad docs about the ASIC:

Unofficial Amstrad WWW Resource (http://www.cpctech.org.uk/docs/arnold5a.html)
"
These sections:

2.8 Enhanced ROM cartridge support"

3.1 6128

Hi dragon
I was just interested in finding out the layout within the Burnin Rubber Cartridge.
I have since made up a new cart with Parados 1.2 , Burnin Rubber  and the System by an old fashioned way by replacing the parts that I wanted to change.
I now have a default cart with Parados 1.2.
Thanks   Ray
