Hi,
Looking for some help/info.
While cataloguing some Romdos D20 disks from 93/94 used for the storage of 17K screen files I found that a large number (40%/50%) have a file type .SQR as opposed to the usual .SCR.
The file size for these varies from 11K to 12K so it looks like a reduction in file size of approximately 33% was achieved.
I would like to restore the files but unfortunately I can't remember the utility that I used to compress them 25 years ago.
I would never have processed the files individually as that would have taken up far too much time - so a utility capable of batch processing must have been available to me then.
The "Q" in the file type makes me think of various CPM programs that could be used to compress files but I'm sure it was an Amsdos program.
Any ideas?
Peter
