6128 Upper Rom

Hi all.

Looking for some advice about the upper room.

Am I right in thinking the upper room is involved in the disk drive?  The computer seems to work fine with some 64k games but not with others.

Cat works fine and the 3" drive seems to function mechanically.
I have fitted a Gotek which has the same problem so I think I can rule out the 3" drive.  Some games load, some don't.  When they do load, some get partway through the load screen before showing a read error with both drive and Gotek.

My dandanator comes back with everything fine except the upper rom.

Any suggestions greatfully received.

On a stock CPC6128 the upper ROM number 7 is responsible for disc management. Upper ROM 0 contains the BASIC language. While the lower ROM (usually there is only one lower ROM) contains the native OS / the firmware. Lower ROM and upper ROM 0 must fit, this means they both must be from the same computer model.
