Hi All,
I have recently come into to possession of an AMX mouse (black with red buttons)
The mouse mostly works except the right movement which takes a lot of effort. Up, down and left is smooth.
Mouse looks clean inside but I need another look in daylight.
Any ideas where to start?
Thanks
Mark
Hi Synchmaster319
The ball may need a clean, 2 drops of Dish washing liquid in the palm af you hand.
place ball in palm of hand and soak the ball fo 2 Minutes with a rubbing action,
Wash with water and see if that helps
Keep Safe. Ray
Have you tried WD40?
The ball has two spring-loaded rollers too. You need to clean these well and check that the springs are still doing their job correctly.

Well I have stumbled upon a solution but cant understand why this would be the case.
Plugged it back in the morning and it works.
What i did different is not use the AMX mouse power cable to feed 5 vault back to the CPC. I used a splitter cable from my Imperium Solo to feed the CPC and mouse and I can now move the mouse right normally
I have repeated the process a number of times and get the same results?
What is going on? lol
The grounds of the two power supplies weren't connected together, so there was a level shift between the voltages.

Lots of PSUs (today) seem to have the problem to fall down to 4,5 V when being used. Even 5V 3A PSUs show that phenomenon. I tested half a dozen and more or less they all got this problem.
The original CPC power remains around 5V (usually), but especially a GT monitor doesn't provide much Ampere.
So a Y cable can be of help. That makes sense.

That's not a PSU problem, it's a problem with idiots selling PSUs with inflated specifications that they could never achieve. Unfortunately the internet is flooded with them.

Hi Bryce,
Just to confirm in both my connection methods I was using 1 PSU.
Initially using the AMX splitter (which is horrible looking) to power up the CPC and mouse and then the working solution was by using a new Y cable to feed mouse and CPC.
Thanks
Mark
Ah, I thought you were using two. In that case it's just a dodgy AMX splitter cable.
